The Säpilä Suspension Bridge, which crosses the Kokemäenjoki River, is a historically and recreationally significant route that was originally built in 1950.
Due to its poor condition, the bridge was closed and taken out of use on January 1, 2017. The Raition Village Association was established on May 17, 2018, and it leased the bridge and began restoring it through volunteer work. The project was funded by volunteer efforts, fundraising by the association, and grants from the City of Kokemäki and Karhuseutu. The fully restored bridge was reopened to the public on May Day, May 1, 2019.
