Snowshoeing gives you a very special experience of Lapland's winter nature. You can see places you wouldn't otherwise get to and admire snow-covered trees up close. Join us on a snowshoe trip to Porovaara! The hike will take us to enjoy the silence, the soothing snow-white landscape and meeting reindeer. The snowshoe hike offers a unique opportunity to meet the reindeer in the snowy forest, in their natural habitat. You will get to see the reindeer up close and feed them with lichen. Reindeer have amazing abilities to survive in the Arctic and have helped us humans to live here too. It is still an important, iconic animal for Lapland. There is a whole culture and way of life associated with reindeer, which you can learn about in Porovaara. After the hike, we'll spend some time around the campfire enjoying picnic. It is said that sitting together quietly staring at the fire is a Lappish way of meditating. The Porovaara area is privately owned, so you can enjoy peace and privacy throughout the hike.
