The exhibition of the Lapua Cartridge Factory Museum offers a journey through the 100-year history of the factory. The factory, which began operations in 1923, is a significant part of Finland’s defense materiel industry.
The exhibition includes an animation illustrating the structure of a cartridge, as well as presentation videos featuring former employees demonstrating how the cartridge manufacturing machines operated. In addition to these machines, there are artifacts and photographs related to key turning points in the factory's history.
Interactive touchscreens provide in-depth information about the factory's pivotal moments and working life in the 2020s. The exhibition highlights factory culture and gives voice to the employees. At a listening station, visitors can hear the stories of four factory workers, based on oral history interviews.
The building and its history are an integral part of the exhibition. The museum is located within the Vanha Paukku cultural and business center. The original structures of the factory hall and the nature of industrial work are reflected in the exhibition's architecture and visual identity. The new main exhibition honors the legacy of the over one-hundred-year-old building.
The Lapua Cartridge Factory Museum’s new exhibition is a journey through time into the history of the cartridge industry, the Lapua factory, and its employees. The museum unveiled its completely renewed exhibition in January 2025. It is located in the original factory hall of the cartridge factory
