Outdoor Express: Overnight Canoe Tour In National Park Isojärvi

Hop on the Outdoor Express bus from Tampere to Isojärvi National Park and head out for an overnight adventure! Enjoy a guided canoeing tour with two days of paddling, cultural experiences, and sleeping outdoors.

Meeting point: Saturday 28.6., 12.7. and 2.8.2025 at 11:50 AM, Heretty Forest Cabin

Itinerary:

- Paddling basics and safety

Before departure, our guide will teach you paddling techniques and go over safety instructions. No previous experience is needed — everyone is welcome!

- Canoeing and lunch by a campfire

As we paddle forward, we are surrounded by beautiful wilderness. At a suitable landing spot, we will take a longer break, gather firewood, and prepare a warm meal together over an open fire. You’ll also learn outdoor cooking and basic wilderness skills.

- Setting up camp and dinner

After lunch, we continue paddling before stopping for the night. You will set up your own camp and help prepare dinner — a great opportunity to practice outdoor skills.

- Day 2: Morning in nature, cultural sites, and local history

We start the day with a peaceful breakfast in nature, pack up the camp, and paddle once more. In the afternoon, we visit two historical sites — Huhtala Croft and Heretty Forest Cabin — which offer a glimpse into the local cultural heritage.

Tour ends: Sunday at 5:00 PM, Heretty Forest Cabin

What to bring:

- Suitable outdoor clothing, seat pad, and hygiene kit

- Sleeping bag, sleeping mat, and tent (all sleeping gear can also be rented from Tavinsulka for a small extra fee)
