Outdoor Express: The rentable Silmu sauna cabin in Southern-Konnevesi National Park

Fall in love with the traditional Finnish atmosphere of the Silmu sauna cabin!

During the Outdoor Express weekends of summer 2025, you can rent a canoe or kayak from airopari.fi and paddle your way to a night at the Silmu sauna cabin!

Enjoy the soothing warmth of the sauna and take a refreshing dip in the pristine waters of Southern-Konnevesi!

From the cabin, you'll have a unique view of an osprey nesting island just a short distance away. You can observe the osprey's nesting activities from the cabin's terrace or while relaxing on the pier.

(Remember to respect the osprey’s nesting peace! The osprey's nesting tree is protected.)

The Silmu sauna can accommodate multiple bathers at once, reducing unnecessary firewood consumption. The sauna's dressing room is also spacious. The cabin's shore has a sandy bottom and a gently sloping depth. There's a small, simple fire pit by the shore. A small trail from the cabin leads to a lean-to shelter at the northern tip of Silmu Island, where you can enjoy a campfire outing if you wish.

The Silmu sauna cabin has a long and sturdy pier, suitable for larger boats as well.

The Silmu Island sauna cabin operates on a reservation-based system. The renter is responsible for cleaning the cabin.

Cabin Amenities:

Small kitchen with tableware and cutlery for six, a gas stove, and a small wood-burning stove.

Cooking essentials: frying pan, pot, coffee pot, and other utensils.

Dining area with a table set and a sofa.

Bedding: pillows and blankets, plus two hammocks.

Lighting: candles and lanterns.

No electricity in the cabin.

Phone charging option (bring your own compatible charging cable!).

Terrace with a table set for six.

Hammock stands.

Camping beds and sleeping pads.

Sauna essentials: seat covers.

Outdoor toilet (composting outhouse).

Rental Period:

The rental starts at 3 PM and ends at 12 PM on the final day.
