Festival X WIENIÄ! - Winterreise: Journey from Darkness to Light

This afternoon celebratory concert brings to the stage Vienna State Opera star baritone Adrian Eröd, who will be giving his interpretation of the Franz Schubert masterpiece Winterreise. Winterreise as a song cycle is a touching story about loneliness, loss of love and a melancholic wintry journey. This composition is an emotional journey full of nuances, which are all intricately expressed by Eröd’s interpretation.

The pianist for this concert is Teemu Laasanen, who during the festival is also celebrating the 50th year of his own musical journey. After the concert Laasanen invites the audience to raise a glass of non-alcholic sparkling wine with him in order to commemorate the occasion.
